Administrative Structure

Gustavo Mendes (Sporting Director) Graduated in journalism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Gustavo worked as the Media Manager of Fluminense from 1999 to 2004. The President of Fluminense, Roberto Horcades, identified Gustavo’s soccer management competences and appointed him as the Sporting Director of the club in 2005. He managed Macaé Esporte in 2007 and 2008, moved back to Fluminense in 2009 and managed Nautico in 2010.

Vinicius Almeida (Supervisor) Graduated in management from the Faculdade Frassinetti do Recife, Vinicius worked in the area of logistics and procurement in large international corporations in Brazil from 2004 to 2008. In 2009 he studied sports management at IBGM (Instituto Brasileiro de Gestão e Marketing) and became the supervisor of the youth categories of Clube Náutico Capibaribe. He joined Avai in July 2011.

Diogo Fernandes (Administrative Coordinator of Youth Teams) Graduated in physical education from the University of Itajaí Valley (UNIVALE), Diogo worked as a physical education teacher in a local school and a Sports Coordinator at Canto do Rio FC in Florianopolis since 1995. He coached U15 Team of Avaí in 2004 and 2005. He is in charge of Avaí’s Youth Department since 2006. He also coached Avaí Women’s Teach in 2008 and 2009.
