The Avaí Academy Program has a strong focus on technical elements. Our program also lets you experience the life of professional player, understand how a professional football club works and prepares you for your future sports career.
Evaluation and Monitoring
Conditioning before joining your Brazilian team mates
Each club uses different conditioning methods. Individual conditioning training based on the initial evaluation will be conducted by our Strength and Conditioning coach in the beginning of the internship in order to ensure your conditioning is adequate to join collective training with fellow Brazilian athletes. Gym and swimming sessions can be included in this regenerative/preparatory conditioning phase.
Collective training (U11, 13, U15, U17 or U20)
We have five youth categories. Our U17 and U20 teams compete in the Santa Catarina State Championship from May to October. November, December and January are reserved for national tournaments (e.g. Brasileiro Sub 20, Copa São Paulo etc…). All categories train every day and U17 and U20 sometimes train twice a day (morning and afternoon). Goalkeepers train separately with a goalkeeper coach after warm-up and then rejoin the group for a practice game. Matches are held during the weekend. Although you will not be able to participate in the U17 or U20 State Championship, you will have an opportunity to play in friendly matches.
Skill training
Passing, shielding, controlling, shooting etc… these are some fundamental football skills that players have to master in order to play well and make a difference in a real match. Some parents of our academy players requested a special training lesson on fundamental skills. You will train twice a week in a group of 5 to 6 players on ball skills (one touch games, two touch games, 3 versus 2, defensive drills etc…). Goalkeepers will have specific goalkeeping training.
